Bridges

There are various ways of replacing missing teeth and one of these is using bridges. Bridges are often made using porcelain or gold and span the area between the teeth on either side of the missing teeth. Moulds are taken after the teeth on either side of the missing tooth have been prepared as the supports for the bridge. This is sent to a dental ceramist who creates a custom made bridge with a precise fit. The bridgework uses a framework called zirconium or metal and porcelain is layered on top.

A temporary bridge is placed on the teeth while the permanent bridge is fabricated.

The final bridge is checked for appearance and fit before it is cemented with a strong resin adhesive.
